About HEWA
A code editor and a build agent in a browser tab, built for Africa, paid for with prepaid credits.
What HEWA is
HEWA is an IDE that opens in Chrome or Edge: editor, file tree, terminal and preview in one tab, with an AI agent that plans a change, writes the files and shows you every diff before anything runs. You pay for it with prepaid credits, topped up by mobile money, card or bank transfer.
The name is Kiswahili for air. The product should feel like that: already there, needing nothing installed.
Why it exists
Most developer tools quietly assume three things. For many builders in Africa none of them hold.

Where it is made
HEWA is made in Africa, by developers who build on the same phones and networks as the people they build for. Prices are in KES with a USD reference; top-ups work from Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana and South Africa, and anyone can use the editor from anywhere.

HEWA is young and moving fast. Rather than describe it in adjectives, this site names what is in the product and nothing else.
